New Testament prophecy is different then Old Testament prophecy. Part of the purpose of Old Testament prophecy was to call out the sin of man yet to be atoned. The purpose of New Testament prophecy seeks to edify, encourage, and exhort. It speaks of the the atonement of sin by the person and finished work of Jesus.

Plato’s Cave is an allegory on our paradigms and our paradigm shifts. A paradigm
contains our understanding of the world around us. It functions as a framework of our
beliefs and causes us to believe, think, and act in certain ways. When a paradigm shifts it
means that we have a new understanding or insight about our world. This usually causes our beliefs to change. Paradigms are expressedAaron Glennhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11343630055903844826noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5367991007552599984.post-20158320423250714972010-08-29T22:05:00.000-07:002010-08-29T22:05:28.165-07:00HELL YEAH, GRACE IS BETTER!If people are good only because they fear punishment, and hope for reward, then we are a sorry lot indeed. – Albert Einstein.
I was hesitant to repost this video...but I feel it should be looked at- Not for the message it contains. But for how truth exposes it for what it is...This is not the gospel of Jesus!

You are either a sinner or a saint you can never be both.
If you are in Christ, you were once a sinner but not anymore.
If you sin while in christ you are not a sinner. You are still a saint.
You did nothing to make yourself a saint. Jesus made you a saint.
Its actually pride to believe you can undue what His blood has done for you.

When the Father sent Jesus to pay for our sins he wasn't trying to fix a problem that He lost control of. Sin entering the world was not God's desire...but in His sovereign all knowing way he still knew what was going to happen. He already knew how to fully love us and what it would take to fully love us...in spite of us...
Love takes risks.

And you know what? They are right! Thank you Pamela and Paul
In times past I have rejected the idea that I was in some way self-centered because I have never been a selfish person. I have never allowed people to speak into this area of my life. I had never seen the distinction between self-centeredness and selfishness Aaron Glennhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11343630055903844826noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5367991007552599984.post-28135167478860662012010-05-19T10:03:00.000-07:002010-05-19T10:03:50.905-07:00I heard a great quote this week
"Christianity is a response to God's grace...not a reaction to His wrath."
I used to believe that God was like a coin.
God had 2 sides. One side was Love...One side was Wrath. 50/50
This led me to have a very wrong view of God.
It caused me to see Him as 2 very different personalities and each of these personalities would respond to me in different ways basedAaron Glennhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11343630055903844826noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5367991007552599984.post-31758469953707455472010-04-27T20:34:00.000-07:002010-04-27T21:02:55.648-07:00In the gospels Jesus met people "in their sin"
They had a revelation of who He was- then He called them out of it...
broken ones met Jesus and were made whole.
The gospels are where I meet Jesus.
The church sometimes teaches one must repent of their sins to come to Jesus. stop sinning...immediately! But in reality that makes it self effort and not His Grace - "try" to come to him clean.

In seeing his love for me I can begin to love myself. I am glad that God is not angry with me or condemns me. the more I see me, the way HE sees me, I begin to love myself and I begin to love other people better.
"We love because he first loved us."

I wanted to correct myself on the last blog since it raised some serious calendar questions concerning the death of Jesus.
Jesus died 3 hours before sabbath not on the sabbath(it was the day of preparation- they needed to get him off the cross before 6pm when sabbath started) however he was dead through the sabbath day.
We "work" from our position of rest within his work.
It is Aaron Glennhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11343630055903844826noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5367991007552599984.post-87648914776836262732010-04-03T22:37:00.000-07:002010-04-03T22:37:40.581-07:00Easter Sunday.Easter used to be my favorite time to reflect on salvation.
However, Since coming to a deeper realization of the depth of the grace that is found in Jesus, and the perfect work of His cross, everyday has become resurrection Sunday!!!
This is a portion of thought that came to me as I was getting ready for bed.
Jesus died on a sabbath. Symbolizing we are to rest from our works and rest in His Aaron Glennhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11343630055903844826noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5367991007552599984.post-53621535984964374242010-04-01T22:30:00.000-07:002010-04-01T22:30:35.473-07:00I just finished a new design for our community outreach. I will post the final version with the correct information when it is done.

Propitiation and Expiation.
Sadly I have not seen/understood the Beauty in these terms until I had recently heard them in context.
These are portions of definitions showing the amazing grace found in these 2 words words.
Propitiation is the work of the Lord Jesus Christ by which He appeases the wrath of God and conciliates Him Aaron Glennhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11343630055903844826noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5367991007552599984.post-11787931234386367312010-03-28T10:59:00.000-07:002010-03-28T19:39:48.663-07:00A Wake Up Call: Brought to me by the book of Hebrews.1 Corinthians 1:23 "We preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and folly to Gentiles..."
I believe the reference "to Jews" could be used to reference those of us who are of the mind-set of the pharisees, those of us who try obey the letter of the Law to attain our "so-called right standing" before God- or at least we appear to others to be obeying the Law. Because it offends those Aaron Glennhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11343630055903844826noreply@blogger.com0
